"Diferente da temporada fértil que foi 2016/17, essa temporada 2017/18 traz menos opções o que torna mais fácil a gente tentar adivinhar...
A grande surpresa é Bob Esponja, afinal ninguém esperava que um musical baseado num desenho animado fosse tão espetacular. Ethan Slater merece e bem provável de levar melhor ator ( seu principal concorrente seria o Joshua Henry - Carousel); a direção também foi bastante elogiada afinal, Tina Landau faz parte da equipe criativa que ajudou no conceito da peça. Mesmo com pontos fortes, não acho que leva ‘Melhor Musical’, mas ainda vale a pena destacar que o scorn composta por tantas mãos foi tudo amarrado por uma orquestração muito bem trabalhada, por isso acho que eles levam orquestração.
Minha aposta vai pra o grande prêmio da noite vai pra ‘The Bands Visit’, que também foi bastante elogiado pela crítica. O score é grande chance de Yazbek finalmente ganhar um Tony. Katrina também leva Melhor Atriz uma vez que conquistou público e crítica.
Meu lado Potterhead de lado, Melhor Peça vai pra Cursed Child, afinal trazer a magia aos palcos não é fácil estudo foi feito de forma muito excelente, então não será surpresa a peça levar todas as categorias técnicas, além da direção (John Tiffany também é o autor da peça junto com JK) e ainda Anthony Boyle levar melhor ator coadjuvante. Ou seja, uma deja vu do Olivier que consagrou tantos prêmios à peça do bruxinho.
Outras apostas: Coreografia vai pra ‘Carousel’ que é extremamente coreografado e tem um trabalho extenso de ballet clássico, amo o trabalho do Casey Nicholaw (Aladdin, Something Rotten!...) mas não acho que Mean Girls supera Carousel. Aliás, pra Mean Girls eu aposto Best Book como uma forma de reconhecimento pelo trabalho da Tina Fey como um todo. No mais, outras apostas devido ao destaque na temporada: Lindsay Mendez (Atriz Coadjuvante Musical) em Carousel, Andrew Garfield (Melhor Ator Protagonista Peça) em Angels of America e o brilhante Gavin Lee (Ator Coadjuvante Musical) em Bob Esponja (o Número do sapateado!)."
