"Entre os musicais, esse ano não há um único grande destaque, como nos anteriores que tiveram Hamilton e Dear Evan Hansen, o favoritismo fica entre Bob Esponja, The Band's Visit e Mean Girls, então na hora de votar acabou contando bastante gosto pessoal. Já nas peças "não-musicais", o favoritismo fica entre Angels in America e Cursed Child, ambos fazendo um sucesso estrondoso no momento. Sabemos que o Tony tem uma tendencia a evitar de premiar peças originais da West End, então a aposta mais provável fica para Angels in America. (... e vamos compensar Tom Kitt por aquele Tony que ficaram devendo para ele pela orquestração de American Idiot, né?)"
